The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques has a crisp, stony, quite reserved bouquet at the moment. This is taciturn. The palate is more expressive with tart red cherry fruit and a touch of cranberry, nicely structured with a piquant finish that lingers. Pretty and delicate, this is one of Mounirs wines that I might broach earlier than others.
