The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has a feisty, menthol-tinged bouquet that seems to leap from the glass. The palate is underpinned by bitter lemon and orange peel notes that impart tension and nascent energy. Quite long in the mouth with a saline finish. Everything is in place for an impressive Puligny, but it will need time.
