I tasted the 2023 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir from tank shortly before it was bottled. Initial touches of panna cotta, allspice and cr?me br?l?e give way to peach, red apple and iodine on the nose. The long, cool vintage produced a wine thats precise and focused, and the palate slowly unfolds from stone fruit to spice and mineral. Its concentrated flavors are balanced by shimmery acidity, and it has a very long, energetic finish. “I don’t usually consider this chiseled,” Winemaker Robert Fiore says. “But this year, it’s very chiseled and structured.” A total of 1,117 cases were made, and the wine will be released in September of 2025.
