The 1999 Montrachet Grand Cru from the Domaine de la Roman?e-Conti is drinking very well today, offering up a characteristically super-ripe bouquet of honeyed peaches, orchard fruit and marmalade mingled with notions of white flowers and baking spices. Full-bodied, broad and unctuous, with a thickly textural attack and an ample, fat mid-palate, its lavish endowment of sweet, sun-kissed fruit is underpinned by ripe acids. Theres no reason to defer gratification.
