Healthy bright, light yellow. Very ripe but reticent aromas of oatmeal, baking spices and spice oils. Concentrated, silky and seamless in the mouth, with plush yellow fruit flavors giving the wine a fat, sweet impression. Atypically rich and weighty for a Lafon Meursault, showing limited mineral lift and site distinction. “This has never been a great vintage for whites," said Lafon, who noted that “most of the '05s were falling apart five years ago but are better now.” Fruit-driven, largescaled and mature but ultimately a wine with limited verve. Finishes long but a tad harsh. Not obviously oxidative but I wonder where it can go. (30 hectoliters per hectare; 3.5 g/l acidity; 3.34 pH)
