The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Combottes has a broody, gravel-tinged bouquet with undergrowth and briary scents, one that is decidedly more introspective than the Bussi?res. The palate is underpinned by very fine, slightly chalky tannin. The acidity drives this along, almost citric towards the pointed finish with a stony aftertaste. This is another thought-provoking and wondrously crafted Chambolle Musigny from Christophe Roumier.
