The 2011 Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru has a very well-defined bouquet with dark black cherries and cold-stone scents merging into briary and boysenberry. The palate is smooth and sensual with lower acidity than the Echezeaux, a sweet core of dark-berry fruit and a silky smooth finish. This is a commendable Grands Echezeaux, though it does not have the edge over its little brother. Drink 2017-2030.
