Originating from a 0.2-hectare site of 40-year-old vines, only one 350-liter barrel was produced of the 2024 B?tard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a wine that unfolds in the glass with a deep bouquet of hazelnut, pear, toasted bread and peach mingled with orange oil. Full-bodied and concentrated, multifaceted and textural, it is structured around a spine of lively acidity and chalky, structuring extract that lends a vivid sense of freshness, and it concludes in a long, persistent finish. It is an elegantly muscular rendition in vineyard context, bottled at 12% alcohol. It will require a decade or more to reveal its full hand; those fortunate enough to secure a bottle will need to exercise patience.
