The 2023 Ech?zeaux Les Lo?chausses Grand Cru (good luck pronouncing the lieudit!) is matured entirely in new oak. The wood does cover the terroir so that it is difficult to discern the vineyard in question. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a creamy texture. Fair dues, the oak is more assimilated on the finish than on the nose. Give it several years in bottle.
