Disgorged with 2.4 grams per liter dosage in March 2018 after 48 months sur lattes, the NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Roises (2013) derives entirely from the 2013 vintage. It's an extraordinary young Champagne, unwinding in the glass with scents of crisp orchard fruit, citrus zest, Anjou pear, white flowers, nutmeg and fresh peach. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, textural and caressing, with a deep and multidimensional core, racy acids and an electric, searingly chalky finish. From a south-facing site that touches Les Enfers, the soils here are clay-rich and about a meter and a half deep, and Collin's vines are 70 years old; some are virused and produce small, shot berries, conferring even more concentration to the resulting wine?as well as ensuring that yields are always low.
