The 2022 Vi?edo Chadwick is equal parts composed and commanding, entering with an aromatic intensity that stays under the surface but holds excellent energy and power. The nose is darkly fruited, herbal and wonderfully gravel-laden and toasted, displaying pitch-perfect harmony between all elements. The texture is sumptuous yet graceful, displaying fantastic poise and clarity through its classically structured framing and balance. The finish calls back the noses multidimensionality, simultaneously achieving a flashy, rugged persistence housed in an exquisite, understated and nuanced package. This is a real work of art that should deliver immense pleasure for two decades. Its a blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, aged for 18 months in predominantly barrique with a small portion of foudre.
