The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fremieres is rich, seductive and incredibly primary, with little in the way of aromatic expressiveness. This is the first wine of these 2009s that is closed in on itself. With time in the glass hints of red cherries and flowers begin to emerge, yet this remains an implosive wine in need of considerable cellaring. The depth of the fruit and the elegance of the tannins are impossible to miss, but this multi-dimensional wine begs for patience. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034.
